It is the primary contact for individuals seeking regular employment with all City Departments, except the School Department. The Personnel Department is committed to a broad range of personnel services and benefits designed to develop and maintain a high quality workforce, meeting the needs of our community for excellence in municipal services.
In addition to the coordination of hiring of staff, the Personnel Department if responsible for: |
| Compensation | | Ensures that all employees are paid fairly, while ensuring that the City uses the available financial resources well. |
| Benefits | | Admininsters benefits to employees, including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, deferred compensation, and employee assistance programs. |
| Collective Bargaining | | Represents the City in labor relations matters including collective bargaining with employees represented by unions. |
| Training and Staff Development | | Works to insure employees have the knowledge, skills and abilities to peform their positions. |
| Workers Compensation and Unemployment Compensation | | Administers the workers compensation and unemployment compensation programs for the City. |
