| The Weights and Measures office is responsible for the inspection, testing, adjusting, sealing or condemnation of all commercial weighing and measuring devices, whether for buying, selling, hire or reward. |
| It also inspects pre-packaged food and merchandise for correct weight, measure, count and labeling requirements regarding weight and measure and various state pricing regulations. Weights & Measures also inspects the calibration of vehicle tanks. |
| The office investigates all complaints upon request of short weight of commodities, short measure of firewood and fraudulent use of weighing & measuring devices. |
| The department checks transient vendors, hawkers and peddlers for appropriate licenses. |
| Weights and Measures inspects automated check out systems and proper price labeling of scanned commodities. |
