MISSION STATEMENT
The Council on Aging sets policy and direction of services for all senior citizens in Westfield. Our philosophy is to promote a higher quality of life by providing services to assist seniors in maintaining their independence and productivity. In addition to services, special emphasis is placed on activities which encourage social, physical and mental stimulation.

According to the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, "A Council on Aging (COA) is a department of municipal government, authorized under Chapter 40 Section 8B of the Massachusetts General Laws. The law states that a Council on Aging may be established for the purpose of coordinating or carrying out programs designed to meet the needs of the aging in conjunction with programs of the Office of Elder Affairs."
