OFF STREET PARKING REGULATIONS

1. For your convenience, a parking meter machine is available in the Franklin Street parking lot. This machine offers hourly parking for 50cents. Motorists who need just one day of parking or half-day parking will be able to buy the amount of time they need, eliminating the need to purchase a parking sticker.

2. Parking regulations will be enforced in the off-street parking lots and the on-street core district by parking enforcement officers and police officers.

3. The following is a list of free parking hours in each of the off-street lots:
NORTH ELM, READER 1 and 2 - 2 HRS.
FRANKLIN ST., THOMAS ST., ARNOLD ST. & READER 3 LOTS - 3 HRS.

4. Please note that the hours of free parking in the off-street lots means per use, therefore, "jockeying" of your vehicle, from one space to another within the same lot, on any given day, is a parking violation, and will cause you to be ticketed. Please remember, you can purchase a monthly parking sticker from the Parking Clerk's office, 59 Court Street, Room 211, phone (413)572-6202, which will allow you valid parking, all day, in sticker lots.

5. Emergency Snow Ban Parking: When snow bans are called, all vehicles must be removed from all City streeets. During a snow-parking ban, motorists in the downtown core may park in any of the eight off-street parking lots free, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

6. Parking stickers, for all day parking (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM) in off-street lots, are available in the Parking Clerk's Office, located at City Hall, in room 211. The price is $10.00 per sticker per month. This sticker is valid for the following off-street lots, which allow sticker parking:North Elm Street Lot, Franklin Street Lot, Thomas Street Lot, Arnold Street Lot, East and West Sides, and the Reader 3 Lot.

Parking Stickers are not valid in the reader 1 or 2 lots.


7. An overnight parking sticker is available for winter night parking, the price is $5.00 per sticker per month. This sticker allows overnight winter parking from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM in the Franklin Street Lot, spaces 1 through 11, east side of Arnold Street Lot, spaces 14 through 34 and Thomas Street Lot, spaces 43 through 60.

Parking without a night sticker is not allowed during December, January and February between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM, violators will be ticketed.

8. Parking stickers shall be affixed to the left rear side window with the exception of motorcycles and trucks. Trucks will affix the sticker to the lower back window on the driver's side. Motorcyclists will carry the permit on their person and the parking enforcement officer will validate the sticker number.
