Class II (Auto Dealer) License

Why is a Class II License Needed?
Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 140, Sec. 57 requires that anyone engaged in the sale of new or used motor vehicles be licensed by the local licensing board. M.G.L., Chapter 140, Sec. 57 aslo requires that anyone engaged in the sale of new or used motor vehicles report weekly all sales to the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

When is a Class II License Needed?
A Class II (Auto Dealer) License is needed by any person whose principal business is the selling of used motor vehicles.

Fee(s) and Fee Structure
There is a $50.00 application fee. There is also an annual fee of $200.00 that is due at renewal time of each year. All checks should be made payable to the City of Westfield.
