CONSERVATION COORDINATOR
The City of Westfield Conservation Commission is seeking qualified and motivated applicants for the position of Conservation Coordinator. Salary range $35,700 - $48,800, commensurate with experience (subject to funding). Attendance at site inspections and evening meetings of Commission required.

The Coordinator reports directly to the Commission and is responsible for analyzing environmental and natural resource data as those conditions impact the City and for making policy recommendations to City Officials.

Minimum two years related work experience required, preferably in a Massachusetts municipal setting. Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Forestry or Plan & Soil Sciences is preferred. Certification in Wetlands by the Association of Massachusetts Wetland Scientists would be highly advantageous. Five additional years of related work experience may be substituted for a college degree. Valid Class D driver’s license.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
The City of Westfield seeks qualified applicants for position of Community Development Director. This professional and overall administrative position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the City’s economic development, redevelopment and business assistance activities; oversees capital improvement programs and planning documents. Director reports directly to Mayor and works cooperatively and effectively with City staff, elected officials, businesses, developers, consultants and the public.

Applicant will have Bachelors degree in public administration, business administration, urban planning or related field and no less than 5 years progressively responsible related experience in a managerial or leadership capacity within public land use, comprehensive planning capacity and economic development. No less than 5 years management experience. Governmental management with emphasis on municipal management would be helpful. A combination of education and related experience will be considered. Salary for 35 hour/wk. position is $61,200 – 81,100 dependent upon experience. The City offers excellent benefits packages to employees.

SPECIAL MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR/LABORER
The City of Westfield Water Resources Dept. has vacancy for Special MEO/Laborer. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy specialized and frequently complex construction and maintenance equipment requiring considerable manipulative skill. Applicant must have at least 2 yrs relevant working experience and possess valid CDL A with and valid hoisting license. The position is a Labor Service title and must be filled according to Civil Service Rules of Certification. Full-time with excellent benefits. Starting rate of $15.77/hr. Veterans preference. The City of Westfield seeks applicants for the position of Heavy MEO/Laborer. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient skilled operation of heavy motor equipment as assigned requiring considerable manipulative skill. Applicant must have at least 2 yrs relevant working experience and possess valid CDL A with X endorsement (hazmat and tanker). The position is a Labor Service title and must be filled according to Civil Service Rules of Certification. Full-time with excellent benefits. Starting rate of $15.14/hr. Veterans preference.
