The Collector's Office
The collector’s office primary responsibility is to collect real estate, personal property and motor vehicle excise tax, as well as water, sewer, and waste management fees that appear on the combined utility bill. The city operates on a fiscal year that runs from July 1 to June 30.

The office also processes miscellaneous payments to the city such as out of district tuition payments to Westfield Vocational Technical High School. The office bills and collects fees for off duty police officers that work details on various construction projects throughout the city. The office helps taxpayers resolve problems with their payments, prepares municipal lien certificates and processes payments from other city departments. The office also processes refunds where appropriate. The office works closely with the Treasurer's Office and the Law Department with the collection of overdue taxes up to and including auctions of properties that the city has foreclosed upon.

Fiscal Year 2015 - 2nd Quarter Real Estate Tax Bills
Real Estate Tax bills for the Secon Quarter of fiscal year 2015 are being issued on Oct.1, 2014. The due date for these bills is November 3, 2014 since the usual due date of Nov. 1 falls on a Saturday. The First and Second Quarter Bills of fiscal year 2015 are preliminary estimated taxes based on the fiscal year 2014 tax rates and assessments.

Payments can be made online by using the City's Pay Online feature or by mailing your payment using the enclosed envelope. You may also use your bank's Online Bill Pay service if applicable or pay in person at the Collector's Office in room 105 of City Hall - 59 Court Street, Westfield MA 01085.
