| Civil Service | | The City of Westfield has adopted a job classification plan that includes many Civil Service positions under the Human Resources Division of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This plan includes positions that require completion of a scheduled examination process as well as those for which there is continuous testing (CONTEST). For a list of job titles being tested in the near future and for applications visit the Massachusetts Human Resource Division website. Lists are requisitioned when there are position vacancies. |
| Labor Service | Many City of Westfield positions are classified under the Labor Service System of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We accept applications at our office for a wide range of positions, from entry-level laborer positions, cafeteria workers in the schools to truck drivers and maintenance workers. Once you have completed a labor service application form (available in person, by phone or mail request, or download) and demonstrate to us the experience and/or qualifications for the position you are interested in, your application is placed on file for a period of five years and candidates are called in order of application for the position. There does not need to be a vacancy in order to apply for a labor service position. Veteran status preference applies.
You will need the freely available Adobe Acrobat software to view and print these forms. If you don't have Acrobat on your computer, click here to go to the Acrobat web site, where you can download the software. |
