Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport Management Team has been alerted to a potential fraud scheme regarding the Airport's FAA Part 150 Noise Mitigation Program. Fraudsters have contacted residents in City of Westfield regarding future noise mitigation measures including replacing doors, window, and HVAC systems.
Neither representatives from the Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport Management or representatives from our on-call noise mitigation consultants, Jones Payne Group, are going to homeowner properties regarding the current noise mitigation program.

Runway 15 Obstruction Removal, Taxiway B, and Southwest Quadrant
The proponent anticipates that the SEIR will be noticed in the Environmental Monitor on December 7th, 2022 with a comment period ending on January 6th, 2023. A Final Certificate will be issued on January 13th, 2023.
Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport and Westfield Police Department will be hosting a drone operator workshop at the Westfield Senior Center located on 45 Noble Street, Westfield, MA on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00PM. The purpose of the workshop is educate the general public and drone operators on how to safely fly a drone and follow FAA regulations when flying in a drone within five (5) miles of an airport. Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport Manager Chris Willenborg and Westfield Police Department Detective Todd Edwards will be presenting at the workshop. In addition, there will be displays of drones owned/operated by Westfield Police Department, MassDOT Aeronautics Division and Airport Solutions Group.
