2021 City Census & Voter Registration

Voting Booths

It's not too late to return your 2021 city census!

State Law c51,s4 requires that you be sent an annual street listing form in January of each year.  Residents are required to sign and return NO LATER THAN MAY 30th, even if there are no changes. Return by USPS mail or by placing it in the White Drop Box located outside of Westfield City Hall, 59 Court Street.

Why is the city census important?

The benefits of responding to the 2021 City Census are:

  • Residents who are voters maintain an ACTIVE voter status
  • Allows for accurate calculations of state and federal funding
  • Provides proof of residency for housing, veterans’ benefits, in-state college tuition, insurance benefits and more

What happens if I don't return my census?

If you don’t respond, the City Clerk’s office assumes that you are no longer a resident of Westfield.  Residents who are not voters will be deleted the following year.  If we don’t receive your signed census form by May 30th, residents who are registered voters will be removed from the ACTIVE voter list and placed on the INACTIVE voter list.

Can I use the census to register to vote?

The census cannot be used to register to vote, change party affiliation or change your voting address.  Please visit the online voter registration system for your voting needs. www.registertovotema.com

I didn't receive a census.  What do I do?

You may download a blank 2021 Census form , email votewestfield@cityofwestfield.org to request a pdf form or call (413) 572-6266 to request one to be mailed to you.
