Sealed Filed Sub Bids for select sections of the Westfield Intermediate School Mechanical Room and Equipment Renovations Project will be received by the City of Westfield at City of Westfield, Purchasing Department, 59 Court Street, Westfield, Massachusetts 01085 until 3:00 PM, prevailing time, September 28, 2023, and at that time and place will then be publicly opened and read aloud at City Hall. Exact room number is to be determined. Sealed Bids must have outer envelope marked as “Westfield Intermediate School Mechanical Room & Equipment Renovations Project, Bid No. 24-006.”  

The Project consists of but not limited to the following: Replacement of the HVAC units, boilers and Boiler Room renovations.  

It is the intent of the Awarding Authority that a DCAMM certified Mechanical Contractor  oversees all aspects of the project.    

In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 44D, General Bids will be valid only when accompanied by (1) a current certificate of eligibility issued by Division of Capital Assets Management and Maintenance, showing that the General Bidder has the classification of “Mechanical Contractor” and a capacity to perform this work and (2) an update statement summarizing the General Bidder’s record for the period between the latest Division of Capital Assets Management and Maintenance certification and the date the bid is submitted.  

Drawings and Specifications will be available for viewing at the office of the Purchasing Director, 59 Court Street, Westfield, Massachusetts on September 13, 2023. 

A voluntary pre-bid meeting will be held at 3:30 PM, on September 21, 2023, at the Westfield Intermediate School.  

The bidding and award of the Contract shall be in full compliance with Chapter 149, Sections 44A-44J of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as last revised.

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in their best interest.
