Written proposals addressed to the City Purchasing Department, City Hall, 59 Court Street, Westfield, Massachusetts and endorsed “Municipal Playground Improvements to Basketball and Pickleball Courts- Bid #24-010” Will be received by the Purchasing Department in the Purchasing Office Room 102 of City Hall until 3:00 P.M. October 5, 2023 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in room 201. If for any reason City Hall is closed for an unforeseen reason, bids will be opened on the next normal business day at the same time as indicated above. 

The work under this Contract consists of construction of basketball and pickleball courts in the City of Westfield including but not limited to the excavation and compaction of existing material, fine-grading, hot mix asphalt paving, painting and striping of the asphalt surface, and installation and furnishing of basketball hoop systems and pickleball nets, posts, and fencing with associated work.

A proposal guarantee of 5% of the Bid shall be required. Minimum wage and dump truck rates have been set. Performance and Payment Bonds: 100% of the Contract Amount. 

Estimated cost:  $240,000.00

Special Requirements:
Attention is called to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27G, inclusive. In addition Federal Wage Rates will apply, contractor must pay the higher of the two. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of General Laws, (3rd Ed.) Chapter 30, Section 39M, inclusive as amended.
