Our Fire Prevention office is managed by a Deputy Chief. The Deputy reviews commercial building, home and new construction plans for smoke detectors and other fire safety devices outlined by state regulations and the City's ordinances. Fire Prevention inspects residential homes for smoke detector compliance and quarterly and annual inspections of schools, nursing homes, hospitals and local restaurants.

Removal of the radio master alarm boxes and installation of a new communicator are to be completed by December 31, 2024.
