On May 4, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm, Starbucks hosted Westfield’s first “Coffee With a Cop” event with members of the Westfield Police Department.  Over the two hour event, numerous officers from the Patrol Division, Community Policing, the Detective Bureau and also Chief John Camerota were able meet with residents to talk about any issues they chose.

Many residents stopped in to ask specific questions, some stopped in to thank officers for the job they do, and still others were Starbucks customers who were able to have a friendly conversation with an officer while getting their order.

At least 50 to 75 patrons came through Starbucks over the two hour period and spoke with officers.  The event was a huge success and gave citizens the opportunity to interact with police officers in an informal atmosphere.  The event was so successful the Westfield Police Department is open to participating in another “Coffee With a Cop”  event in the future if other organizations would be interested.  If you are interested in hosting  “Coffee With a Cop” at your business, please contact Lieutenant Eric Hall at e.hall@cityofwestfield.org.

The Westfield Police Department would once again like to thank Starbucks and all the staff for hosting this wonderful event.
