[ARCHIVED] U.S. Attorney's Office, Westfield Schools, and Westfield Police Host Internet Safety Seminar

Project Safe Childhood - Westfield flyer (2) - June 2017 (1)

Please join the United States Attorney’s Office, the Westfield Public Schools, and the Westfield Police Department for a free seminar on keeping children safe and secure online. This is a “Project Safe Childhood” presentation for parents which will take place June 12, 2017, at Tekoa Country Club, 459 Russell Road, in Westfield from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in Westfield will be receiving an age appropriate presentation of this material during school on June 13, 2017, so please come out and preview what your children will be experiencing. The U.S. Attorney’s office has given this presentation 147 times to 14,500 children, parents, law enforcement agencies, school nurses, social workers and foster parents across the Commonwealth in the past few years. Included will be information on cyber bullying, digital footprint, gaming, social media 101, sexting, sextortion, internet predators, and much more information on being safe and secure online. This presentation at Tekoa Country Club is geared toward parents, caretakers, and other interested adults, but your mature high school student may benefit as well. Again, an age appropriate presentation with the same information will be given to all sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students in Westfield, so please join us Monday, June 12, 7:00 pm at Tekoa Country Club for this important seminar.
