On Friday, November 17, 2017, the Westfield High School Council on Peer Education participated in a "Stuff a Cruiser" event to benefit the Westfield Food Pantry. Students, faculty and staff were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to school in an attempt to "Stuff a Cruiser" full of food. Although food is always in demand, this time of year it is particularly important and the need for is high for many families in our community. As you can see by the attached picture, the food drive was increadibly successful. Not only was the cargo area of the cruiser completely filled, but not pictured here is the back seat which was also void of any free space!
Although this drive was a success, there is always a need. If you would like to make a donation to the Westfield Food Pantry at 101 Meadow Street in Westfield, items that are in need at this time include: Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Mac & Cheese, Canned Fruits, and Vegetables, Tuna, Soup, Rice, Cereal, Peanut butter, Jelly, Juice, Coffee, and Tea. You can also make a monitary donation on the Westfield Food Pantry website by clicking this link.
This was a job well done by some very very socially responsible high school student who, rather than simply complain about an issue, took action to make a difference in their community. Excellent work.
