We’re back, again! Unfortunately the weather just did not cooperate with us in February, but we are back and better than ever for March. Landlords and property managers don’t miss the free February meeting of the Westfield Crime Free Multi Housing Group, Thursday, March 22, 2018, 6:00 pm, at Shaker Farms Country Club, 866 Shaker Road, Westfield. This is a free meeting for anyone who owns or manages residential rental property.
March’s meeting will showcase regular speakers Attorney Stanley Komack, whose practice concentrates in Real Estate and Landlord/Tenant matters, representatives from Ormsby Insurance Agency, Inc., and members of the Westfield Police Department. This month the topic to be covered will be the eviction process. Laura J. Fenn , Assistant Clerk Magistrate of the Western Division Housing Court will be speaking to the group on the eviction process and the duties and responsibilities of landlords throughout this process. The eviction process can be very difficult and if done incorrectly can result in a tenant not paying rent for extended periods of time. This is a meeting not to be missed.
From 6:00 to 6:30pm, is a social/networking half hour, from 6:30 to 7:00 pm is an optional RSVP buffet dinner for a fee of $19.00 per person, and at 7:00 pm, the informational portion of the program will begin. Dinner for the evening will include grilled Ahi Tuna with pineapple salsa, beef tips in Burgundy Sauce, buttered egg noodles, frilled vegetables and dessert. There will also be a free door prize raffle for two, $25 Big Y gift cards and a 50/50 cash raffle.
