It's November and almost time for this month's meeting of Westfield's Crime Free Multi Housing Group.  On Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 6:00 pm, we will meet at Shaker Farms Country Club, 866 Shaker Road, Westfield.  Landlords and property managers don’t miss the free November meeting for anyone who owns or manages residential rental property.

November's meeting will showcase regular speakers Attorney Stanley Komack, whose practice concentrates in Real Estate and Landlord/Tenant matters, representatives from Ormsby Insurance Agency, Inc., and members of the Westfield Police Department. This month we will have multiple speakers covering the topic of "Renting to University Students".  Our first speaker will be Shannon Broderick, the Director of Student Conduct at Westfield State University.  Shannon will speak on the disciplinary process at Westfield State and how the University may be able to assist landlords if they have problem tenants.  She will also speak on how to have your property listed on WSU's website as off campus student housing.  Our second speaker has joined us many times.  H. John Fisher, Author of the Property Management Manual For Massachusetts Rental Owners will speak on what owners may and may not include (or exclude) in rental and lease agreements specifically as they pertain to university students.  If you own property that you rent out to University students, or are thinking of renting to students, you can not miss this meeting!

From 6:00 to 6:30pm, is a social/networking half hour, from 6:30 to 7:00 pm is an optional RSVP buffet dinner for a fee of $19.00 per person, and at 7:00 pm, the informational portion of the program will begin. When the dinner menu is determined this notice will be updated.  There will also be a 50/50 cash raffle which goes to cover the cost of meals for guest speakers.
