Description
The Barbara Swords Park is undeveloped land, and can be accessed from a trail head at the dead end of Oak Avenue Extention.
Formally Highland Park, in September 2018 the park was renamed in honor of long serving City Council woman, Barbara Swords. A stone and plaque at the start of Barbara Swords Park is located behind Highland Elementary School the entrance to the park behind Highland Elementary School at 34 Western Ave., Westfield. A clearing exists between the school building and the park.
Barbara served on the Westfield City Council for 22 years, from 1986 to 2008.
