Conservation
The City of Westfield Conservation Department consists of the Director of Conservation (Conservation Agent) and Wetland Compliance Officer (WCO).
The Conservation Agent reports directly to the Conservation Commission, reviews wetland permit applications under the Wetland Protection Act and Westfield Wetland Protection Ordinance, analyses environmental / natural resource data that impact the city, makes policy recommendations to city officials, and provides information on current permit filings to members of the public as well as federal, state, and city agencies. The WCO, under the supervision of the Agent, addresses active wetland violations and enforcement, as well as ensuring compliance on active permits.
